Welcome to the Moorestown ASP 2020 Service Trip. Please take a moment to read through the information outlined below.
The ASP Moorestown work service trip is an anual program focused on spreading God's love to empoverished families in Central Appalachia by making their homes "Warmer, Safer, and Drier". Though we do not yet have a destination assigned for 2020, we will be heading somewhere in the vicinity of the Kentucky/Virginia/West Virginia border July 19-25, 2020 will see a few minor adjustments that we feel will improve on the overall experience for everyone. We are scaling back the size of our trip. We had 126 volunteers in 2018 which was by far our largest trip to date. We were able to accomplish a tremendous amount, but we seemed to lose a bit of that sense of community. It is for that reason that we have decided to target for 100 volunteers in 2019. We will have more applicants than spots, that is almost certain. This means your application carries a lot more weight than last year and should be completed in a timely and well thought out manner. Beyond the content of the application, we take multiple factors into consideration including (in no specific order): gender, age, experience, and common friends on the trip. We try to never split up families. We also rarely turn away a student who's parent volunteers as a leader.
The cost for this year's trip will remain at the $600.00. This includes the base fee from ASP, transportation, room and board for the week, a yet to be determined return activity, and one night's hotel stay. This fee applies to both students and leaders. The first deposit of $150.00 will be due upon acceptance. The remainder may be paid in installments or all at once so long as all funds are received no later than July 1st, 2019.
Here is the process for 2020
1. Register online between November 19, 2019 and December 31, 2019
Parents must first create a record ("account") for their child before the child may complete the application.
2. Decisions go out via email in early January. We will send to both student and parent email accounts. One email will be sent out for each student/parent. Please make sure to include valid student and parent email addresses.
3. Upon acceptance you will mail in a non- refundable $150 deposit along with the notarized ASP Volunteer form by January 31, 2020.

4. You will mail in the remaining $450 by July 1, 2020
